Paris is always a good idea. For the first time in my life I’m about to take the train through France. The idea itself made my anxious . Nine times out of the ten is traveling by train uncomfortable. But Le Train Blue made me think differently about that last statement. I just found a lovely restaurant located on the train station Paris Gare De Lyon.
Walking into Le Train Blue feels like your entering a French palace. The ceiling completely covered with historic paintings and gold. I’m two steps in and still flabbergasted by the room that I’m standing in when I’m being relieved of my suitcases. The gentleman kindly tells me “Madame, I will store these for you’. I cannot believe that this is taking place on a train station, because in a flash I no longer feel the stress that comes with traveling around. Pleasantly greeted by my waiter and seated at the table I start to unwind.
Once comfortable I take a glance at the menu of Le Train Blue. My mouth is starting to water… roasted monkfish, sea bass and house-cooked duck foie gras. Even the wine list is surprising for a restaurant on a train station. Oke, this is right up my alley. I decide to start with a soup and settle on one of the fish dishes. Highly engaged in the table conversation, the chef comes by to present my fresh fish at the table. At this point I’m on the tip of my chair. Top notch service while traveling, this is unheard off.
If you don’t feel like having a well thought out meal, take a look at their bar. I sure you’ll adore the atmosphere while waiting for your train. I hope you will enjoy this place as much as I did. My belly is full and I’ m ready for my first train ride through the city of love.
Au revoir Paris! Montpellier I’m on my way!
