There I was relaxing by the pool in complete elegance with a lobster salad and Steve Harvey’s new book. While soaking up the Californian sun I received a phone call... PRINGGGGG. Before I knew it I was checking in my bags and on my way to *drumroll please* SHANGHAI.
Until now, there hasn’t been a moment where I don’t feel like taking a plane or travel to a new destination. Especially this year, I have been traveling around quite a bit. You could say that it has become a part me, my life and this blog. Even tough I could use a little break every now and then. There is still so much that I want to see and explore.
A couple years ago I've travelled to China, Beijing to be precise. But this trip came in last minute that it took my by surprise. In comparison to my passion to travel around, I really don’t enjoy the process until I’m actually in the lounge or plane. Dealing with suitcases that need to be packed, visas that I might need to apply for and stressful security checks. The minute that I’m able to sit back and luxuriate with a glass of rose champagne.. Honey, I’m ready to have a good time. But first let’s get through this fourteen hour flight.
In this particular situation the difficulty for me was not the time difference or this long flight. Those things are manageable with a good sleep and starting a day ahead with adjusting to the timezone that you will have to deal with. The hassle for me was to look effortless upon arrival and not look like a truck ran over me. With a meeting and dinner planned I could not walk around like a ghost.
The Fairmont Peace Hotel arrange an excellent pick up service! No hassle to find the baggage claim, pull them of the band or troubles to find my driver. As I was walking outside of the plane there was someone waiting for me to take me to the restroom to refresh myself and eventually to my driver. Magically by that time my suitcases where already stored in the car. And I we were ready to go. OfficialDSHA takes SHANGHAI!
On my way to the hotel I got informed about the events that we’re happening in the city, news and little tips on how to get around in Shanghai. So far I was really liking this. No stress and no complaints about the service. As I arrived I was greeted by the staff and taken to my room immediately. Finally a minute to simmer down. But wait this bathroom is heaven!!! Tune in on my snapchat @DanydshaNaomi for a full room tour. Enjoy!
